The Science

The Science is simple, two clinically proven active ingredients work together to effectively brighten overall skin appearance and minimize the effects of hyperpigmentation. These ingredients are shown to be effective yet gentle in comparison to some of the other treatments that can cause peeling and burning:

Hyperpigmentation is a common condition in which patches of skin become darker in colour than the surrounding skin. The darkening effect occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin colour, forms deposits in the skin creating dark spots. Hyperpigmentation may be caused by sun damage, inflammation or other skin injuries. Excess melanin is also produced with hormonal changes, such as during pregnancy and aging, the skin can lose its uniform skin tone forming age spots or a blotchy looking complexion. Individuals with skin of colour are also more prone to hyperpigmentation and even more so with excessive sun exposure.

Lomelin™ will help reduce the appearance of dark spots by suppressing the production of melanin.

CLINICAL TRIALS

Both Alpha Arbutin and Melaslow ingredients have been tested to show safety and tolerability.

5% Melaslow 1

Both Alpha Arbutin and Melaslow ingredients have been tested to show safety and tolerability.

Lightening effect on age spots of caucasian skin

  • 20 Volunteers
  • Application: twice daily for 6 weeks
  • The melanization index fell 28%

Lightening effect on Asian skin

  • 19 Volunteers
  • Application: twice daily for 8 weeks
  • Marked lightening of the complexion as of day 28
  • A highly significant effect was obtained after 56 days.

2% Alpha Arbutin 2

Alpha arbutin reduced cellular tyrosinase to 60% of that in control and decreased cellular content of melanin to 76% of that in non-treated cells. Tyrosinase is a key enzyme in melanin synthesis which in excess causes hyperpigmentation in the epidermis

Alpha arbutin accomplished a reduction in melanin synthesis without affecting cell viability. Research concluded that this ingredient is a safe and effective treatment of skin with hyperpigmentation.
